Kannada Department is having more than 50 years of rich history. It is known for Academic Excellence. In the previous years the Department of Kannada has been headed by great personalities as a well known Kannada writers Dr.K.L.Gopalakrishnaiah and a famous Kannada Literary critics Dr.H.S.Raghavendra Rao.
At present Dr.B. Papanna heads the Dept and there are four members in the Department. A large number of students studying Kannada as a part of the curriculum as General Kannada and Optional Kannada.
