Research Interests:
His research interests include: Light-induced phenomena in glass. Glasses for optical limiting properties and photonic devices that control amplitude gain or extinction, polarization, phase, reflection and refraction of light including the protection of human eyes and sensitive optical detectors from accidental exposure to intense light beams. Glassescontaining RE ions have stimulated extensive interest due totheir potential application for high-density optical storage, under sea communication, color displaysand excellent lasing materials.
