Dr.R.Rajaramakrishna, M.Sc., B.Ed.,Ph.D.

His research interests include: Light-induced phenomena in glass. Glasses for optical limiting properties and photonic devices that control amplitude gain or extinction, polarization, phase, reflection and refraction of light including the protection of human eyes and sensitive optical detectors from accidental exposure to intense light beams. Glassescontaining RE ions have stimulated extensive interest due totheir potential application for high-density optical storage, under sea communication, colour displaysand excellent lasing materials.

  • Hands on experience in open aperture Z-Scan instrument (Non-Linear optical studies) operated with Nd:YAG laser emitting the second harmonic wavelength of 532nm with very low pulse repetition rate (1pulse/s).
